According to the data, although the development of the plastic industry in Thailand is limited, investment in plastic equipment has reached as much as 1 billion US dollars over the past 10 years. The market prospects for plastic machinery are promising. In order to continuously produce various modern products, the Thai plastic industry must update its equipment and introduce advanced technologies, which is necessary for it to compete with plastic product manufacturers in other countries and regions. 

At present, the plastic industry in Thailand can only provide general household plastic products. Further investment is still needed in the future. According to the Thai Plastics Corporation, the future equipment investment in the Thai plastic industry will require approximately 2 billion US dollars. Thus, it can be seen that there is a huge business opportunity in the Thai plastic machinery market. The chairman of the Thai Plastics Association said that currently, no plastic company has invested in modern high-quality plastic product production equipment, and the development of mold factories in Thailand lags behind that of the international industry. Under these circumstances, many Thai plastic companies have realized the existence of the crisis and have begun to enter overseas markets and invest in the introduction of high-tech equipment. 

In 1995, the Thai government began to encourage the development of the plastic industry. Over the past few years, it has become one of the fastest-growing industries. At the same time, the "2010 Thailand Plastic Industry Development Plan and 2020 Long-Term Plan" has designated household goods and high-tech products as the key areas for the development of the plastic industry. It is also predicted that the annual consumption growth rate in Thailand will be around 25% to 30% in the future. By 2016, the per capita plastic consumption in Thailand is expected to reach around 50 kilograms, and the plastic export volume of Thailand will reach around 500,000 tons in 2016. In the coming years, the plastic industry in Thailand will experience significant development. 

Firstly, after years of development, China's plastic machinery enterprises have gained certain strength. Compared with the products of international large enterprises, the main advantage of China's plastic machinery products lies in their cost-effectiveness. The prices of our products are lower, enabling them to be more widely accepted by Thai enterprises. Secondly, the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has reduced the tariffs for China's products exported to Thailand. In January 2007, Thailand's accession to the WTO also provided opportunities for the export of China's plastic machinery products to Thailand. 

In order to expand their market share both domestically and internationally, plastic enterprises in Thailand have been increasing their investment and expanding their business scale. Due to the relatively backward industrial development in Thailand, especially in the field of mechanical manufacturing, a large amount of plastic machinery equipment needs to be imported from abroad. This provides an opportunity for the export of Chinese plastic machinery products to Thailand.
